The Volvo corporate campus is a complex includes the Technical Center, the Communications Center, the Administrative Office Building, and a Dynamometer Lab, all with compatible exterior palettes of brick and glass with stone accents. The compatibly-scaled buildings are linked together by a series of external and internal linear circulation spines. The 136,000 SF Technical Center provides raised-floor office and experimental engineering shop space. The two-story shop area houses garage space, a clay studio, testing facilities, and shipping/ receiving and loading dock facilities. A skylit galleria connects the office area to the shop area, acting as an organizing element between the different functions as well as providing natural light to the office spaces and serving as the major circulation spine within the building.
