Leadership Columbia Renovates Epworth Children's Home LS3P’s Jason Likas, participated in Leadership Columbia program (a part of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce) in the 2011 class. Jason was nominated by his classmates (59 business professionals from the surrounding Columbia area) and served as this year’s Project Chair for the class project – the renovation of the Doug Gray cottage at Epworth Children’s Home. The renovation of this 6,300 SF cottage, will help to provide a new home for 14 teenage boys. The renovation consisted of a repaired roof, HVAC system, electrical, new kitchen appliances, new carpet, painted entire cottage, new furniture, new security system, etc. “Our work at Epworth was for the children, therefore it was only fitting to also have an event especially for them. On Saturday our class and our families gathered with the Epworth family to enjoy the day. First we Blessed the house by all laying hands on the Cottage during the prayer. We cut the ribbon, allowed the children and our families to tour the cottage, enjoyed burgers and dogs straight from the grill and played games. It was a super fun day.” [excerpt from Leadership Columbia] Post navigation LS3P Takes the 2010 Trident United Way Day of Caring by Storm!LS3P Paddles for Cancer Awareness
