Charlotte’s Concourse E was originally completed in 2003 with 19 new regional gates. Another 3 concourse expansions in the past 12 years added an additional 12 gates to bring the total to 31 current gates.

This final Phase 9 expansion to Concourse E consists of a 38,000 SF addition adds 10 more gates bringing the total to 41 gates along with adding 2 new concession amenities along with American Airlines offices and a breakroom. Construction drawings were completed in early June 2019. Project is scheduled for completion November 2021.

The new design will be more spacious with 12’ metal ceilings with integrated lighting and HVAC, new integrated powered seating and a full bar in the center of the space. Two clerestory light wells will bring natural lighting into the circulation areas. Areas of soft seating with ample charging and work stations will be sure to enhance the passenger experience.
