Augusta Row TownhomesGreenville, SC This new 27-unit townhome development derives its inspiration from the patterns and traditions of early- to mid-twentieth century row houses. Working within a nuanced Form Based Code that addresses urban design issues specific to Greenville’s Haynie-Sirrine neighborhood, the design provides a deliberately modern variant for an instantly familiar traditional kit of parts. Limewashed brick, layered lap siding, and large format fiber-cement panels in a white and charcoal colorway provide the diversity in scale and texture that is critical when designing for walkable neighborhoods. The development’s six townhome superstructures each include four or five units, with two- and three-bedroom options. The units feature balconies, garages, and entry terraces to encourage pedestrian engagement. The first phase of construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2019.
