The downtown school serves students from economically disadvantaged inner-city families, with the ultimate goal of closing the learning gap and preparing students for a college education. The school offers an advanced curriculum and encourages intensive parent involvement.

This project required LS3P to work closely with the client, City of Charleston, and SCE&G to design, constructing the facility on an existing site while maintaining a tight budget and expedited design schedule including site interventions. Key design phase priorities are safety, efficient vehicular circulation, and a prominent secure entry for community events.
