The "Building a Legacy to End Hunger" team constructed a pyramid that mirrors the top of Legacy Union office tower, a new development which will forever change the Charlotte Skyline. LS3P team members collaborated with Gilbane Building Co. and Shelco. A Earth Day Project: Greenville Earth Day Project: Greenville LS3P Greenville gathered our printing data from last year (2017) and discovered our office printed 7.79 trees-worth of paper. In order to redeem ourselves and offset that impact, our office teamed up with Trees Greenville to plant 8 trees for Earth Day. In addition to our Earth Day initiative, the Greenville office makes an effort to stay LS3P Laces Up and Takes a Walk for National Walking Day LS3P Laces Up and Takes a Walk for National Walking Day Team members from all across LS3P offices joined each other to participate in National Walking Day. Each office mapped out their own route and groups enjoyed 30 minute walks with their peers. Pleasant Knoll Middle School Tiny House Competition Pleasant Knoll Middle School Tiny House Competition LS3P Charlotte team members David Bellamy and Ginny Magrath were selected to judge Pleasant Knoll Middle School’s first annual Tiny House Competition. Students were divided into teams and asked to choose a favorite middle school-level book. The groups each read the book, discussed character traits, and agreed on a house design. This was an event to connect with the public and teach them more about architecture and the architectural profession. Volunteers provided fun and engaging activities for people of Backpack Buddies Backpack Buddies LS3P's Faith studio had a great time today teaming with Trinity Lutheran Church to prepare Backpack Buddies bags for students in Greenville schools that otherwise might not have enough to eat on the weekends. Thanks to Trinity for keeping a critical program like this going and thanks for letting us participate! The stocking donation drive was organized by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Triangle Chapter. In addition to donating to a good cause, the We Care We Care LS3P’s Raleigh office was honored to participate in Herman Miller’s “We Care” event, a holiday tradition started 20 years ago in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club.
