The new Alumni Center is a signature facility for past, present and future Alumni of the University of South Carolina. Located on the corner of Senate and Lincoln Streets it is designed to complement the surrounding historic context of the Vista.

Incorporating the iconic branding of the gated entryways, recalling the entry into the Horseshoe and other parts of the campus, allows for immediate recognition that this is indeed a University of South Carolina building. In this premier location, it also acts as a new gateway from the Vista to USC’s Innovista Campus and the greater campus beyond.

This new 3-story, 65,000 sf facility includes ballroom facilities, meeting rooms and a catering kitchen primarily on the first floor. The ballroom pre-function space also opens onto an outdoor patio for events. With the addition of a new sidewalk along Lincoln Street this outdoor patio will be a vibrant addition to street life along Lincoln towards the Colonial Life Arena. The second floor provides additional meeting spaces, as well as the new Board Room for the USC Board of Trustees and Presidential Dining room. The third floor is primarily office space for the Alumni Association staff.

The design of the interior incorporates a grand stairway to the second level and creates a welcoming environment for all visitors and alumni to enjoy. From a sustainability perspective, not only is the exterior brick a regional product, but also the interior materials are specified with low-emitting properties and recycled content. Energy efficient systems are incorporated for HVAC, lighting and the building envelope.
