This addition and renovation project for a multi-campus church creates a “big church with a small church atmosphere,” with the ultimate goal of connecting the church with the community, country, and world. The project began with a campus master planning effort to determine and define clearly welcoming points of entry, and to consolidate and reorganize the K-12 school program. The resulting design features a new sanctuary accommodating 1,800 people, a chapel accommodating 400 people, improved school facilities, children’s spaces, youth worship facilities, a counseling center, administrative offices, and parking.

The exterior materials palette of brick, curtainwall, and metal panels blends contemporary architectural elements and timeless forms. Inside, an expansive entry volume connects the program spaces and provides and engaging space for congregants and visitors to gather. Wood accents provide a warm, welcoming, human-scale aesthetic.
