Cardinal SolutionsCharlotte, NC This IT consulting firm and software developer required a new space to accommodate immediate needs and allow for future expansion. LS3P assisted with site selection and provided analysis and space planning for potential facilities. The client ultimately selected a mid-rise urban building, a historic Packard luxury automobile garage and showroom, repurposed as a hub for entrepreneurs and business incubators. LS3P took special care in the creative design of the 7,000 SF team-oriented “bullpen” to provide a modern, collaborative work environment which includes open workstations, a variety of meeting rooms, breakout areas with flexible seating, a formal training room, and a café area. Additional impromptu meeting space is provided in upholstered privacy booths with high backs that dampen background noise. Retractable floor-to-ceiling panels in bright aqua subdivide the work configurations, and the concrete floors and ceilings were left exposed. Vibrant colors, wood panels, and comfortable furnishings soften and contrast with the sleek gray surfaces.
