This new leading-edge center for advanced manufacturing technologies supports education, research, and entrepreneurship while training a highly skilled workforce. The 106,000 SF facility is the first building on a new International Style campus, and is designed to establish a distinctive architectural character and serve as a visual icon of modern manufacturing. In addition to instructional spaces, the facility features prototyping space for manufacturers and incubator space for start-ups. Other program areas include offices, conference and breakout rooms in a variety of sizes, and an open learning commons to engage visitors and students. High-bay manufacturing spaces accommodate equipment such as mills, grinders, and lathes, with adjacent low-bay space for materials storage. Specialized labs include mechatronics, manufacturing pilot line/integration, innovation labs, and research space. A showroom provides a space to highlight student work and emerging technologies.
