Harris & Boyle Office Buildings at Ballantyne Corporate ParkCharlotte, NC These Class ‘A’ office buildings take full advantage of the golf links and open green spaces that are elements of the Ballantyne’s live-work-play-stay lifestyle. The twin office towers, 10 stories each and totaling 542,000 SF, respond to the demand for high-profile, sustainable office spaces. The towers and associated parking decks maximize the density of development to reduce the development footprint and preserve green space. At the heart of this project is the central plaza creating an active pedestrian space. From the plaza, tenants enter into a double-height lobby with stone floor, wood paneled walls and coffered ceiling with views of the golf course. This project, LS3P’s 39th and 40th buildings for the 538 acre master planned business park, achieved LEED® Gold certification. Sustainable design strategies included filtering stormwater runoff, re-use of water for landscape irrigation, bicycle storage, priority parking for fuel-efficient vehicles, white rooftops to reduce solar gain, 100% recycled steel structures, recycled aluminum window systems, reuse/recycling of 75% of construction waste, solar thermal water heating, and a green cleaning system.
