LS3P led the design team in execution of this task order issued under a Single Award Task Order Contract (SATOC) with $500 million capacity. This project is supportive of the BRAC directed movement of the US Army’s Armor Center from Fort Knox, Kentucky to Fort Moore, Georgia and provides Basic Training facilities for entry level recruits of the US Army.
This initial task order consists of four battalion complexes located on two separate sites on Fort Moore – Harmony Church and Sand Hill. It provides (20) Barracks (4,800 beds); (1) Brigade Headquarters; (4) Battalion Headquarters; (20) Company Operations Facilities; (20) Weapons Storage Vaults; (2) Dining Facilities (serving 4,800 meals/3x/day); (4) Running Tracks, (1) Parade Field and (20) Exercise Pits. Also involved were the extensive site development of the two project sites (totaling approximately 105 acres) and its incorporation into the overall infrastructure master planning for the future development of the entire Harmony Church area of Fort Moore.
Innovative design/build techniques were pioneered in delivering these affordable, durable and timely facilities, such as use of precast wall panels, pre-engineered metal buildings and off-site fabrication of key mechanical systems.
