With a background in architecture and urban design, Michael is committed to great design as a catalyst for systemic evolution of our built environment. His attention to detail and design is exemplified in the various projects he has worked on, including K-12, higher education, commercial, hospitality, historic preservation, multifamily design, and urban infill development.

Michael is conscientious and dedicated to his clients’ success, well-versed in the communication skills and technology necessary for successful project delivery. He is passionate about combining disciplines to develop synthesized solutions and create opportunities for redevelopment in the built environment. An advocate for equitable design and practices, Michael has extensive experience in design, project management, community engagement, relationship building with clients and stakeholders, and presenting project proposals to local neighborhood organizations, historic review boards, and third-party groups with a specific focus on preservation and historic district character.

Michael is the Savannah office expert on Historic Preservation, Adaptive Reuse, and projects within numerous historic districts in Savannah and the state of Georgia. He has extensive experience in combining excellent design principles with local historic ordinances and codes, historic tax credits at the state and federal level, and celebrating the rich history of these projects and their locations through respect for the past and adaptation for future uses in today’s world.

Michael has contributed to design teams for affordable housing, community planning and design, civic and public space design, and comprehensive planning projects.
