Central Receiving & Distribution Center (CDRC)

The Orlando International Airport Centralized Receiving and Distribution Center (CRDC) is a renovated 30,500 SF facility which completed construction in 2023. The facility consolidates delivery of goods for all concessionaires throughout the airport to a central location north of the airport terminal facilities, easing current traffic congestions near the terminal building. LS3P analyzed the existing warehouse space, planned out operational efficiencies and created a layout to maximize efficiencies within the building lease area.

The design of the renovated facility features large open warehouse space, secure airlocks accessing the airside, a large storage mezzanine level for rack storage, office and break room spaces, and several walk-in coolers and freezers to store climate-controlled products.
The site divides SIDA, so delivery trucks are not required to be badged. Shipments are delivered, and processed for distribution to the different airport stores and restaurants, all within the facility, creating a streamlined channel of delivery. The facility was designed for future pallette scanner integration, allowing all goods coming into airport property to be also be x-ray scanned, in addition to current visual scanning.
