Warren Wilson College New Academic Building ls3p
Warren Wilson College

Myron Boon Hall

With a prominent location on campus, overlooking the College’s working farm in the adjacent valley, the two-story academic building is intended as a focal point for campus academic and social activities. Housing faculty offi ces and multi-purpose learning and meeting spaces, the building is designed to bring students, faculty, and the college community together in a flexible, collaborative, engaging learning environment. Maximizing views and day lighting via large expanses of glass and soaring ceilings, and incorporating both formal and informal outdoor teaching and meeting spaces, the building embraces its natural setting and minimizes the barrier between outside and in. Bright colors and warm, natural materials reinforce the building’s natural setting. Designed to achieve LEED Silver certifi cation, the building’s materials and systems are intended to minimize its environmental footprint. Integrated, fl exible technology throughout the building further supports this 21st century approach to the academic experience.
